Grandpapa's Okay
Margo's Grandpapa has lived in the Prairies his whole life, and yet yesterday was the first time in 79 years that he's seen a real tornado.

He's okay, the tornado headed west of the town, and Dad is to the east. There were semi-trailers thrown about in the industrial site across the highway from him. Four houses were destroyed a couple of hundred metres from my uncle and aunt's. Dad said that he was at the Esso diner when they saw it. Turns out that it's not the greasy food that will kill you...
There is a silver lining to this; when Dad and I talk on the phone, we usually talk about the weather and crop yields, and you can't get much more weather to talk about than this.
FYI, the crop yields will likely be the best they've seen in recent memory. Except for the isolated hail from the aftermath of the tornado. See, lots to talk about.
Maybe we shouldn't have named Margo after a Prairie town. Maybe we should have named her after a town with fewer natural disasters. Like Penetanguishene or Abitibi-Temiscamingue. They both roll off the tongue.

I'm glad your dad's okay, Michel. I saw on the news the other day about the tornadoes that hit around and in Eli.

I think that the people in Elie are still on edge, especially when they see dark clouds, winds and hard rains, etc.
It will be a while, before those people, who were in the middle of it, to get back to normal.
They are staying with relatives now.
The traffic was unbelievable especially that week end. They put security there at the site to stop people at a certain point.
People know where Elie is now.
