Making Mountains Out of Margohills

Donna has a pretty good connections to LaDouce. She knows what makes her tick, and can usually snap her out of a foul mood in a minute or two.

Unfortunately, I don't have that knack.

And from what I'm finding, most parents that I've informally interviewed have their safety activity, that one activity that never fails to break the bad mood. For me, it's challenging her. She was getting bored of me and started to grunt -- a bad sign, for sure -- so I set her in front of the stairs. She's been able to climb onto the one-step landing herself, but I thought that the stairs would kill some time.

Right challenge, right time, I guess. It took her about a minute to climb the stairs, and about 20 seconds of that minute on the first three steps. Once she got the hang of it, she was cruising. The only aid that I gave her was anchoring her foot when it was too near the edge. And she couldn't have been happier.

Honestly, I feel that she knows when she's done something impressive, because she gets really happy. This time around, I had the good sense to capture that elation in a photo. Congratulations, Margo. You're a superstar!

- Michel

She's so proud of her in that shot. I am eager to see if she attempts it tomorrow. I wonder if I'll be pulling her away from the stairs all day?

Looks like proud Papa, too.

Uh, by the way: Michel, meet Pandora's Box; Pandora's Box, meet Michel. There's no way of stopping that girl now. You might want to consider outfitting Margo with LoJack or some kind of GPS system.

Whow Margo, I thought that you would walk or talk before you did the stairs.
Talk about proud looks alright, both Papa and Margo.
I have a feeling that their will be another gate going up.
I know from my own eyes that Margo will get there in 2 seconds flat!!

I'm sorry, Donna. You already know the answer to that.

What happened? This blog used to be "cool", but it's come to a grinding halt. You didn't sell the baby did you? One can only assume....

I think life has sadly gotten in the way of blogging (or maybe that's a good thing?). Glad to know that we haven't totally lost our readership. We promise to be back soon with some new issues of the Margoville Gazette. She's still kicking around here someplace . . if only I could remember where.
