The Bumbo

A lot of people have commented on the seat that they've seen Margo sitting in. It's a Bumbo, and Margo's loving every minute of it.

It's made of foam and easy to clean. Margo isn't quite strong enough to sit up on her own, so this helps her out, and because of the way that it's shaped, her legs are gently locked in place, so she's not going anywhere when you've put her down. The "horn" in the middle keeps her relatively upright. It's especially great for having her on the counter when we're cooking, and light enough to bring to out.

Pretty handy. We'd recommend it.

The only downside that I can see is the box. I'm not one to laugh at the way babies look, but, come on...

What kind of happening party are these Bumbo kids attending? There seems to be exciting action in each of the three kids' lines of sight, helium balloons are defying the laws of physics, floating every which way, and the Bumbo elephant mascot at the bottom, is getting all cuckoo for the Smarties cake.

And is it just me, or do the kids in this very professional photo montage look like the baby version of famous celebrities?

Uncle Fester

Tony Soprano

...and Kid, from Kid N Play (would you consider him a "celebrity" character)

In any case, it's a good tool, Margo likes it, and it's very useful, regardless of the packaging.

**edited so Donna could add:

I'm sure we're not the only parents who wonder why the Bumbo company didn't phone us to inquire if our child was available for a commercial photo shoot. They've made a poor choice. And what's with the sad upside down balloon over Uncle Fester's head? The hat on baby Tony Soprano's head? It's a mock up - if you look closely it's evident it was photoshopped on (poorly). Michel and I had a fun game of "how many things are wrong with this picture?" last night. I think Margo's teething woes might bring out the mean in the LeSanndevilles, so consider yourselves all warned. :)

Excuse me if i'm wrong, but isn't it a bit unhealthy to give babies chocolate cake with smarties?
