A little update on Margo's sleeping patterns - she now can fall asleep on her own, within a few minutes! It's very exciting that I no longer have to lie in bed with her for half an hour or more each time she has to sleep. Freedom! The first night she cried for over an hour, on and off. The second night, it was closer to a half hour. The third night it was maybe 15 minutes, and the fourth night it was mere minutes. Now she cries for one or two minutes and the next thing we know she's sound asleep. I creeped in this morning to take this shot of her in her bed. She likes to grab or chew her blankets to help her fall asleep, and the cat toutou that her Tati Angie gave her seems to be the 'security' item of choice.
The only downside to this new sleep routine (and it's slight, all things considered) is that Margo's naps are much more well defined. Her pattern seems to be: wake at 6:45 or so, and then nap at 8:30 until 10am. By 1 she's ready to nap again. The poses a slight challenge to the activities we do - yoga is 9:30-10:30, and Mothergoose/playgroup are both at 1. Last week I left Mothergoose early because Margo didn't seem to be having any kind of fun. We'll see how today goes. Margo has also been taking a third nap around 4, and the past two days I've woken her up at 5:30 - her night time sleep doesn't seem to be affected so I guess I won't worry about that one for now.

In other news, thanks to a barrette left here by a visiting toddler (Thanks UV - although I think it was by accident, Margo appreciates the gift!) we styled Margo's hair for the first time. It's a very subtle look, but it should stop the "what a cute boy" comments.

Violet is happy Margo likes her new hair clip - a very cute hair-do!
Good one on the sleep schedule. A+ parenting, man.

FYI, my sister, Tati Pati, is not unusually cruel; Gussie and Woodrow are dogs.
Just my luck... 2 months of hosting a Las Vegas-style illegal gambling betting line on how long it will take for Margo to stop crying at night, and it will probably be my sister's blog comments that will bring child-family services to our door.

What are you talking about? Are you calling Gus and Woodrow dogs? Sheesh, Michel.

I'm amazed at the short amount of time it took to get Margo to sleep on her own, but I sure am glad that I wasn't there.
