I wanted to let you know about the childrens sale next week. Bidding on healthy children will begin at $750, but final sales usually average $2100.
Now, by putting an apostrophe in the right place to show possession, a children's sale will take place at the Nepean Sportsplex on Saturday, October 14th. Actually, two major garage sales will be coinciding at the Sportsplex on the same day: La Leche League's semi-annual fundraiser, and the Multiple Births Family Association's garage sale for their members. It's nice that there's an event that children of twins and triplets can recoup some money from all the double items that they have to buy.
In any case, we've been to both sales, and they're fantastic, with pretty decent prices on items that have been through one or two kids, or bought and never used. In the past, we've bought an exersaucer, crib and change table set, and a carrier backpack at either sale.
Thing is, the sales are happening at the same time, same place this year. The Moon is in Venus, Mars is in transit, cats and dogs are living together in sin. We are truly in the Age of Aquarius, my friends.
One word of advice, it can get a little frenzied. I've seen more than one soon-to-be father curled up in a fetal position in the corner, muttering something about "she just took it from me, I feel dirty." Bring back-up if you can.

(Edited by Donna to add that there is also an upcoming Children's Consignment Clothing etc. sale at the Glebe Community Centre on October 22. You can visi the sale's website at: http://www.mykidsfunkycloset.com/ - shop for children's clothes/maternity clothing or drop off stuff to sell. (They have some stringent rules around how things need to be prepared, detailed on their website, but you can take part in the preview sale if you're a seller)
