I got to see Margo!!
Hi everyone,
I had my 38 week appointment yesterday. Everything was fine - but I expressed some concern that Margo wasn't moving as much as she had been pre-fall (more likely due to her cramped quarters but I wanted to be sure) so my midwife sent me for an ultrasound to check amniotic fluid levels, how the placenta was looking, her size, and her movements. Everything checked out.
It's quite different getting an ultrasound at 38 weeks as opposed to 18 weeks (or whatever I was last time I had one) - you can't see the whole baby at once 'cause she's too big. She apparently weighs about 8 lbs already - (give or take - really just a best guess based on specific measurements), and she has lots of hair!! The technician, when measuring Margo's femur (big leg bone) asked - Is your husband very tall? I said yup - a big guy! Apparently Margo has long legs like her daddy. It was a neat experience to see her.
But the biggest news of all - or non news, is that she hasn't dropped. So basically she's nowhere near to being ready to come meet us. Please send welcoming thoughts to this little miss, 'cause Mama is gettin' tired of having a tenant. I need to step up my exercise in hopes that it will convince her to come on out!
But first , lunch with my friend Jenn and her two kids - she has promised me this will take my mind off impending motherhood - more likely it will remind me what I'm in for!
Have a good day everyone.

C'mon there Margo! Let's see some dropping action! We're waiting to meet you with baited breath....

Er, make that bated... (gives a funny sort of image - baited breath - as if the breath could have a little worm wriggling on it or something). I never did claim to be a good speller...

OK. So far we know she has a big leg and lots of hair. That's kind of funny! Sounds like your are ready, ready. Now if you can just convince Margo. Perhaps you and papa can be persuasive. Is this blog "R" rated?
