Sunday Morning...

(originally posted on July 30, 2006)

It's Sunday morning . . .although I sat down early at the computer this morning, I quickly lost a half an hour or more in the world of food blogs. I love food! I love reading about it, thinking about it, on my good days cooking some of it, and always, eating it. Makes me think that this Margo blog may contain a few forays into the lovely land of good eatin' - - we'll see what the year brings.

We've got a car this weekend, so have spent Friday evening and Saturday running around doing errands . . . this has involved stops at Kiddytown for some essentials (new born bibs - what if Margo is a drooler?, baby bottles, a thermometer, and a really cute dress, majorly on sale, size 12 months). Ok, that last item might not technically fit into the category "essentials" but it was pretty cute and not too girly, and not even pink, so how could Michel argue? I think he may believe i have a problem. Not so!

We also went to a cloth diapering workshop, offered by the http://www.extraordinarybabyshoppe.com, to learn about the various kinds of cloth diapers on offer, and how to care for them, the benefits of using them, etc. We will be using cloth diapers, so this was an informative session, if hot, session (you would think that they would have booked a room with a/c, what with it being about 30 degrees, and more than 15 pregnant women and their partners. Both Michel and I noticed how many of the women lovingly gazed at their partners, and did things like pat them on the knee in this pukey kind of way when the instructor would tout such truisms as 'You are having a baby. You will touch poop' -- it was barfcity - the looks on their faces clearly read "I'm so glad you could come. . .thank you for doing this with me." Meanwhile my hubby is raising his hand to ask questions about benefits of certain liners over pocket diapers . . he's gonna be a good dad. I saw a site which had T-shirts reading : Good daddies are HOT and mentioned it to him . . now he doesn't want me to order it' 'cause he said the joke's been shared. pshaw. He just hates getting presents.

I hear him getting dressed in the next room - I think we're going to hit Cozy's in Hintonburg and have us some pancakes for breakfast. Yumm.

Hugs to everyone,
-Donna
