That Kind of Day...
Hiya folks,
It's truly that kind of day today. The kind of day that you wake up, feeling positively charged and ready to take on whatever tasks that come your way. As I'm typing this, I'm looking at the window (Literally . .so excuse any typos - I'll try to remember to go back and edit) and am feeling amazed at the range of colours I can see. The green of the trees, the blue blue blue sky, the russet brick of the houses - -it all contrasts so nicely and makes me want to get out for a walk. I think a Bridgehead visit is needed. Always a great way to start the day. Yesterday Michel and I celebrated our one year anniversary as marrieds. The day was stark but the mood was festive yet comfy. A lovely sleep in, followed by a delicious brunch at a local eatery, then met up with the cousins in the afternoon for a wonderful 2 hour Bridgehead yap session. Always enjoyable. M and I spent the evening catching up with family, and noshing pizza in front of the slowest moving movie ever. (The Station Agent, while mildly entertaining is no quick paces thrilling saga). A good hour of before bed chatting complete with some slight mushiness (discussions of the best things about our partnership) and the requisite Jethro the dog impersonations (Michel's childhood pet - best dog ever, apparently), capped the night off well.
The annual Le Sann family bonfire was held this weekend at the farm and sounds like the bonfire idea was taken a bit far, due to extreme dry conditions and a few errant sparks. Yup, the old barn was burned down to the ground. Rather than save the 1948-ish structure, Frank chose to let it burn down to the ground in a controlled manner, with fire (wo)men on standby (not sure if there were any women in the crew but giving props to the possibility). Thankfully, no one was hurt, and the bonfire got the go ahead from the fire crew and went on without a further hitch. 140 or so people in attendance, and apparently the partay and accompanying barn fire made the Winnipeg Free Press. Can't wait to go next year. Until then, here are a few pictures of the old buliding from our wedding, for posterity. R.I.P old barn. We'll miss you!

Off to start my day in earnest - got a hot lunch date with a certain birthday girl. Happy Birthday Em!!

Donna - Sorry to hear about the fall but glad that Margo was not at all upset over it.
Michel - You are sooooo cheap! You remind me of me.
Happy Anniversary, mom and dad! Adrian came back from Seattle in time to celebrate our 12th. We ended up at a great morrocan joint. Food was good. Belly dancer, not so good, but what the hey! After a martini apperatif and a grappa digestif, who cares.
This is the first I hear you speak of Margo kicking. Is she a kick boxer or a balerina. Not unlike you and your mom.
