Sometimes you just have to jump in

So hi there.

It's been a while.
Anyone still out there?

Even if I'm writing into a void, I feel a need to put something up. 2 weeks + has got to be a record for us. It's been a busy few weeks, the holiday season is ramping up . . .not sure what our excuse is. Best way to cure that is to get something down and slap it up before hitting the sack. Michel has already beat me there.

So what's new? Michel and Margo made it through my 6 day absence while I was in SK. I'm very proud to say that these two make a very good team without the Mama, and they did just fine. Margo didn't wean herself entirely while I was gone, although I think that her nursing days may be numbered. We're down to just one session a day, first thing in the morning. I'm mostly ok with this.

Margo is learning to say a few things, and really seems to understand when we tell her to do things (in both French and English, which is great!). This in no way means that she listens, exactly, but it is clear she gets it. Although I can't say she really has words, she will say "Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm" when you ask her what a cow says. And we think she's saying Allo/Hello when she plays with her toy phones.

She is climbing onto the coffee table and endtables non-stop. After a few notes from her caregiver about this we have started to pull her down each and every time she attempts to get up. Not surprisingly she doesn't like this, but she did allow Michel flicking her leg off the table tonight as she tried to crawl up to turn into a game. Small victories.

Margo doesn't like Babybel cheese, but she is a sucker for the ol' red wax on the nose trick. Mama might be, too.

Oh, and I turned 30. Can you believe it? And so youthful and playful and I. You're only as old as you feel and nothing makes you forget your age as quickly as getting down on the floor and playing with a 14 month old.

you two clowns are adorable. We missed your birthday, like the horrible people that we are. What can we do to make it up to you? And 30 being a milestone birthday too. More cheese?

Thanks CK and TJ!

I have had enough cheese to last a lifetime - or at least the next 30 years. . . had a few friends over for cheese and wine and chocolate and overdid it. (as usual!)

If you can't get away with it on your birthday, when can you, though?
