Crafty
There are some unavoidable things in this world. When you pair certain things together, you inevitably get the same answer.
Margo has provided our unadorned fridge with some wallpaper. (p.s. I'm being sarcastic about the empty fridge; our fridge has more coupons, photos and "papers we don't want to lose" on it that the door is getting a little heavy to open.)
I have my suspicions that Margo created these all on her own, given that she's still mesmerized when we put raspberries on the tips of her fingers, and then she doesn't want to eat them for fear of biting her fingers. But, what the hell, a craft is a craft.
Carmen the caregiver has themes in her home. September was "starting school." October is "autumn." For the entire month, they sing songs related to the theme, play games around the theme, and... I don't know... have naps according to the theme. And of course, produce crafts on the theme.
So, there you have it. Margo's one-year-old hands have now been immortalized in art and are being showcased on our fridge. We know the gallery owner, so it was easy enough to get a last-minute show.

- student + March = ramen noodles
- poor financial planning + sudden windfall = new purchases
- teenager + teenager = trouble
- old man forced to wait for his family on a bench in the mall + typewriter/computer = letter to the community newspaper on the degradation on manners in society nowadays
- And of course, young child + fridge = crafts.

Thanks for writing this, hon! I had wanted to . . . but you know. I was waiting for that second craft to roll in . . had to make sure her craftiness wasn't a fluke. . and then I went shopping instead. Woops!

Aw.. I loved all the crafts too.. at first. There did come a time though, where I found myself forcing Isabella to sit down and pick through hundreds of crafts and narrow them down to her favorites, and then my favorites, and then filing them away in a box for safekeeping. Having a crafty sitter is great!!

Ah yes. I remember it well. The crafts are one thing. The other is the endless array of Father's day and Valentine's gifts to mention a few, that make you define your home design as...well...let's just say....eclectic. That, or early Salvation Army.
We will treasure those ceramic keychains and woodworking pencil holders forever. I mean it. Forever. Unless we have a tsunami or locust infestration.
Let's go shopping, Donna.
