Crafty (But From the Parent Side of Things)

Notice anything special about this photograph? Anything different? Anything bird-like, maybe bird-like on a red background? Maybe that special thing is on a little girl?

Give up?

It's Donna's newest talent, appliqués on childrens' clothes, and the results are pretty cool. No longer will our child be sent forth in the world wearing bland clothing like the other commoners. Our kid will be wearing designer clothes, designed specifically for her... for the time being. Maybe Donna will turn this into the afore-mentioned mompreneur business. So far, she hasn't gone for my suggestion of naming the business "My Husband is Awesome, inc."

...she'll come around.

All kidding aside, I've seen other pieces, and this MamaDonna has a knack for turning kids clothes into some really nice pieces.

Gee, thanks, hon. (Stll not naming the business My husband's awesome, Inc.)

All flattery aside, I have much practicing to do and stitches are very crooked and misplaced on this, my first attempt. But I've made two more since then and I've improved immensely. So yay. Fun new hobby! And it was all worthwhile when I put Margo's new shirt on and she rubbed the bird happily and said "Huzah???". I know that means . . "Mama, I love my new shirt - thanks," so I'll keep stitching!

Huzah, muzah, that is a nice shirt. You may have just inspired me to get off my duff and do something similar. "May have" being the operative word...but not likely.

Hey - when can I place a couple of orders? I can't have my kids just wandering around in bland shirts!
Violet - size 2T
Jem - size HAM
