Sampson & Depapa

Margo's hair was getting way too long. I guess it all depends on whether you prefered The Beatles Blue Album or Red Album.

(Damn hippies. Damn rich hippies.)

Baby Boomer musicians aside, Margo's hair was becoming a little unmanageable. We could never predict how it was going to look from day to day, hour to hour, because her long, long front hair had a mind of its own. This... this of all things, she gets from her papa.

So, a second attempt to cut The Margo's hair was, um, attempted. For those who haven't heard, the first attempt, again by me, wasn't so successful. She was bobbing her head like a buoy in stormy weather, and I lost my nerve at wielding sharp scissors next to the head of my only progeny. I mean, if I were to accidently kill her, who would inherit my collection of 1912 to 1992 pennies (I got bored of collecting pennies in '92).

Our neighbour made a good baby haircutting suggestion: if you cut up-down, you will likely get a better line than side-to-side, because if the kid's head moves, it doesn't mess up the line, or the cut as much. It just means that you need to make a few more cuts.

In any case, the results worked out. Margo now looks like a little girl with her first haircut. Funny how that worked out, because that's exactly what she is.

- Michel

the new 'do - to be clear - looks damn near pro. and CUTE. i just don't understand what the hell cutting 'down-up' means, or how it yields a straighter line than, um, cutting a straight line. this ignorance, i suppose, is why i only handle other (simpler) hair removal myself and fork out the big bucks for the complex stuff.
