Come On, Baby, Do the Locomotion

First step: Sunday, August 26, 2007.

First time stringing those steps together to walk: Saturday, September 1, 2007.

Yeah, today was a walking day. We got her walking a lot while she held our hands during a morning visit to the Agricultural Museum, and then in the afternoon, she ventured to walk while only holding on to us with one of her hands (not willingly, it should be said), and shortly before bedtime, she saw her reflection in a window, stood up and walked toward it, and pretty smoothly, all things considered.

And then she did it again a minute later, so I know I wasn't imagining it.

Just goes to show... she's so good looking, her reflection inspires developmental advances. And that's pretty good looking. Probably explains why my hair has started thinning out... her beauty has spurred on my developmental advance. Yeah... that's the ticket... it's her fault.

I was so happy for Margo that I grabbed her and hugged her, and in true Margo fashion, she pushed herself free, as if to say "hey, I was doing something here before you rudely interrupted me."

There you have it. She's walkin'.

- Michel

OK. I have to do it again because you're my only reference point when it comes to babies near and dear to me besides Olivier but I wasn't around him 24/7 like I was with you.

Michel - your first independent steps were on the kitchen table on the farm and Pepere Senecal was there to witness it with us. Don't know why he was there? He rarely came to our house.Especially after his hip thing, but I think it was some sort of holiday. I remember flaming Crepe Suzettes for dessert and his "Ben, gars ca" comment or something to that effect. And no, you weren't going towards the flames, nor were you the 8th course. We had already cleared the table.

I don't think you were one yet. In fact, I want to say 9 months. Don't know why exactly but there. I said it.

I can't imagine putting you on the table now.

Where are those pictures?
I'm glad that you were able to see Margo's first steps.
Monica and I were wondering if she was going to start walking at the sitters.
But again, Margo, you knew when to do your thing at the right time and the right place. Bravo again.
Donna were you there also when she experienced all that?
Pretty soon Margo will be running then you will be going around in circles.
Michel you were 9 months when you first walked on the table but you were turning around in circles, then.
You had a lot of people watching you and protecting you.
That was quite a special moment also.
