New Teeth for Maude

When teething starts, it always starts with one. But usually, number two is right behind.

So far, so good; Maude followed this pattern to a T.

But then several months went by. Months. And overnight, three and four showed up as the front top teeth.

And then about three weeks later, I was making Maude laugh, and noticed that she had four more teeth that had just broken through, one on either side of her top two and bottom two chompers.

Now, I'm no mathematician, but I've done some trend analysis in my day. By my calculation, by the time Maude is one -- in two-and-a-half months time -- she should have 512 teeth, getting ready to double that number to 1024 in another 9 hours.

...and if that happens, breast-feeding will be done.
