THE NEW BABY (not that there was anything wrong with the old one)

She's here! A week early and a bit by surprise, but Maude Euphrasie joined the family at 11:15 a.m., Saturday, August 23, weighing 8lbs 1oz.

YAHOO!

To make a long story short (like... a 34 hour long story), Donna's water broke at 01:00 on Friday, the midwife came to see us, and told us to make our way to the hospital for around 08:00. Contractions, posterior positioning, monitoring, penicillin, unplanned epidural, gut-wrenching pushing, and then there was Maude.

We thought her to be the spitting image of Margo right after birth, but as the hours pass, she's looking more like her own self, but definitely Margo's sister.

And the silly thing is that, with all the people around at or after the birth, there isn't a group shot of us.

We are tremendously thankful to our cousins, Maggie and Roger, who looked after Margo at our house for nearly the entire duration. We're also thankful to Donna's midwife, Suzanne, without whom, we would have been navigating alone the Montfort hospital "growing pains" from having opened a several new wings, including maternity, two days earlier. She also guided us through some hard times without ever imposing a decision on us.

This is the first of many posts on our new family. Be happy for us, because we feel like we have it all.

Except for a more appropriate name for the blog.

- Papa Michel

She is so adorable - Maude too, just kidding. Both of my nieces are beautiful. I'm so happy for both of you and I can't wait until october for Auntie time.

What about "MarMauGazette" or "LeSann Gazette"? I'll keep thinking....

Congratulations!!!
We were happy to be able to help out. And I so enjoyed getting to know Margo better. We went out for coffee in the morning (she had decaf) and I was totally blown away by what a good walker she is! We went there and back with no stops, she willingly held my hand to cross the streets, and only stopped briefly to peer in the toystore. She's a great kid, and will be a terrific big sister to wee Maude.
Hugs, Maggie.

They're both so adorable. I...I..don't have words for it.

Course, now I don't suppose I need to. I imagine Margo will be giving the narrative on this new being of hers in her on words. Because I have a feeling she's going to be an expert on it. -

Congratulations you guys. You done well on both girls.

Well done LeSandevilles - you've produced a second amazing offspring! My vote goes to the Maugoville Gazette... Just one little letter to change!
