Easter Traditions
The question of family traditions comes up often. Which traditions can we pass on, which ones should we start? Which traditions should be brought out to the backyard and buried in a secret hole under the tomatoes?
Yesterday was Easter, and Easter has a lot of traditions that can be passed on. Hot-cross buns, ham, 20 hours of kneel-down-stand-up church masses. Are there too many Easter traditions? Would adding one more make it too complex, too convoluted? Maybe, but can we really pass up the opportunity for...
...THE EASTER PIRATE DRESS-UP EXTRAVAGANZA!
Yeah, it was a bit of a spontaneous tradition, but this is what happens when you get a four-day weekend; idle hands are the tools of the dress-up tickle trunk.
The Dread Pirate Margo even got into it by the end. If you squint and listen carefully, you can hear the angry captain addressing her crew: "Arrr, ye scurvey dogs, ye call that tacking the sail? I've tied knots in limey bellies better than ye can e'er know. We' ne'er make Puerto Principe at this rate. Now ye've gone and made me soil me diaper!"
